Hazardous materials are defined as those materials and substances that are capable of posing an unreasonable risk to health, safety and property when transported in commerce.
The U.S. Department of Transportation enforced the Hazardous Materials Regulations which are found in Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations. Personnel involved in the transportation of hazardous materials need to know how to apply these regulations or how to teach them to others.
Delegates will learn about the Hazardous Materials Table, Shipping Papers, Packaging, Marking, Labeling, Placarding, and Carrier Requirements during this course.
