OMEGA had a visit to one of the largest engineering and manufacturing company of power plant equipment, BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited), Hyderabad.

BHEL was established in 1964, ushering in the indigenous Heavy Electrical Equipment industry in India. It has a wide network of 15 Manufacturing Divisions, 4 Power Sector Regional Centres, 8 Service Centres, 15 Regional Offices, 4 Overseas Offices, 2 Subsidiaries and over 150 project sites spread all over India.

This training visit has focused on safe operation of electrical machines, gas turbines, compressors, heat exchangers, pumps and steam turbines; and their working and maintenance. Great emphasis was laid on the design, engineering, and manufacturing high level quality and reliable products meeting the international standards.

Mr. Purushotham, Senior safety officer of BHEL, Hyderabad enlightened the students with his informative lecture on their company’s HSE policy and safety procedures; and encouraged them with good career guidance.
